They come in many shapes and sizes. Traditional cloth diapers usually come prefolded or in a square and require pinning. More modern types are fitted or contoured like disposable diapers, and come with Velcro closures or snaps. Other cloth-diapering accessories include absorbent liners (some are flushable), diaper doublers for extra protection at night, and diaper covers to help prevent leaks. There are many benefits of cloth diapering, as indicated below.
Cost Savings: Initially cloth diapers can cost a bit of money, but in the long run cloth diaper users are often ahead of expenditures. If the average newborn goes through 8-12 diapers a day, 6-8 diapers a day for an older baby, which can really add up at the cost per disposable diaper, and rising. They may be more economical than disposable diapers. Although most parents choose disposable diapers because of their convenience, some parents opt for cloth diapers, which can be more affordable if you wash them yourself.
Better for Baby: Cloth diapers do not have many issueslike diaper rash, irritated bottoms and other common complaints, that are common with disposable diapers. Fewer chemicals touch the baby's bottom and the less likely they are to be sensitive. If you do have a sensitive baby, you can choose very natural, even organic, materials to use for the diapers. They may reduce discomfort for babies with allergies or skin sensitives, since they do not contain questionable chemicals like Dioxin, Tributyl-tin (TBT), or polyacrylate. They are very much baby friendly and softer on baby’s skins.
Environment/Eco friendly: Cloth diapers are better for the environment. According to the Real Diaper Association, the majority of disposable diapers, along with their contents end up in landfills. It can take hundreds of years to decompose. Cloth diapers will break down in a shorter span of time.
Less Time in Diapers: When cloth diapers are used, it involves only lesser time for potty training or educating the child about EC - elimination communication, as they are more aware when they are wet.
Adorable: Cloth diapers are cute and available in natural fabrics, in fashion colors and prints.
They claim fewer natural resources to produce.
Diaper services pick up soiled diapers and return them clean and folded a convenient option for busy parents of multiples.
You pay for materials once, and then recycle them, instead of constantly having to restock.
They can be reused for subsequent siblings or even for household rags once the diaper days are over.
New products like wraps and liners make it easier than ever to diaper babies.
There are also advantages over the disposable diapers.

Thus considering the pros and cons for both types of diapers, the parents may make a right choice of family's individual needs. New products and production techniques have improved the options for both cloth and disposable diapers. Some families find a via media approach, using cloth diapers for newborns and disposables for more active toddlers or using cloth diapers at home and disposables when they go out

There is another group of people strongly advocating against the use of diapers and they have introduced the Baby training pants, exclusively for Diaper Free Baby and Baby underwear in print knit fabrics exclusively for Diaper Free Baby. This has received less reception among the general public and is in the progressing stage.
